"America, home of the brave, land that I love." These words are extremely strong and powerful. Not all people in the world think our country is great, but I do. To me, our country is intelligent, brave, and loyal. Our people and country have made some magnificent discoveries and played a huge role in our American History. For example, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, Benjamin Franklin invented electricity, and the Wright Brothers created the first successful airplane. These people not only challenged themselves, but challenged our country to be the best country in the world.
Over the years, our country has fought for our freedom and supported those countries that couldn't support themselves. As a result, many Americans have been wounded, have gone missing in action, or have been killed. Our country is like the Big Brother to other countries. We don't always think of ourselves first. For example, our troops are fighting in Iraq to help the people that live there to earn their freedom because their own country treats them so poorly.
Throughout the years, our country has experienced many traumatizing natural disasters that has brought us together and made us a stronger country. These include the Tsunami in Thailand, Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, and many other natural disasters. Not only did our volunteer organizations like the Red Cross, step up and help these people, but so did our celebrities. Celebrities such as Ellen Degeneres, Amare Stoudamire, and Oprah Winfrey, are just a few who have donated their money and time to rebuild houses, buy cars, and help these people in their time of need.
I am so glad that I live in such a great country. The United States of America is the leader of the free world and truly home of the brave!
