Saturday, September 17 is the date and New Oxford is the place for an exciting 'Liberation of New Oxford' renactment involving GI and Nazi ground and air forces. The World War II Victory celebration will feature rides in a real Jeep and a swing dance party after the Nazi forces are rounded up and shipped off to POW camps. WWII veterans are especially invited to attend to receive recognition for their participation in the "Greatest Generation". The event is being hosted and staged by the New Oxford Area Historical Society.
