American Legion Riders Chapter, Post 14, Hanover, PA was chartered on December 21, 2011 with 27 members. Meeting place is topside Post 14 on the third Monday of each month. The official uniform of the chapter is a black vest with large back ALR patch, Post Rocker, American Flag, POW/MIA Patch, Chest ALR Patch.
If your bike is at least 250cc and you qualify as an American Legion member, sign up and ride with the troops of Post 14, Hanover.
The American Legion Riders are formed to promote the aims and purposes of The American Legion as a family oriented motorcycling activity for members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of The American Legion
We will ride to escort the last Honor Bus from Mechanicsburg to the MD line on Sunday April 26.
Memorial Day Parade beginning at 8:30 AM on Monday, May 25
Our Fourth Annual Ride for the Vets is Saturday, June 6. We will depart from the Irishtown Pavilion, register at the Irishtown Firehall between 1030-1100. First stop is the Old Mill Inn in New Oxford. Second stop is the Gettysburg American Legion. Third stop is Zippers in Bonneville. Fourth stop is our own Legion post 14 in Hanover, then back to Irishtown for food (pit beef/ham and sides) and beverages. Food serving begins at 3:00. The band entertains 4:00 - 8:00. Winning poker hand prizes will be awarded at 6:00. We will have vendors, door prizes , small games of chance and a flag folding ceremony prior to band.
We had 9 bikes ride..a total of 13 people participate in our ride to Frederick Maryland on Sunday,Mar 22nd where we met up with their Legion Riders. We also stopped at Woodsboro & Littlestown Legions. It was a little windy..temperature in low 40's. Good ride!
